2026 GMC Yukon Trim Levels

There are five primary trims for 2026:

• Elevation
• AT4
• Denali
• AT4 Ultimate
• Denali Ultimate

Both Yukon and Yukon XL are offered throughout the lineup. One feature you’ll find across the 2026 Yukon family is the large 16.8-inch Premium GMC Infotainment System with Google built-in compatibility.

Yukon vs. Yukon XL: What’s the Difference?

The biggest difference is length and cargo space. The standard Yukon measures about 210.1 inches long and offers up to 122.8 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume. The Yukon XL stretches to about 225.2 inches and increases maximum cargo volume to 144.5 cubic feet. Cargo space behind the third row also jumps from 25.5 cubic feet in the Yukon to 41.5 cubic feet in the Yukon XL. That extra room matters if you frequently carry passengers in all three rows and still need space for:

• Strollers
• Sports equipment
• Coolers
• Camping gear
• Large grocery runs

Choose the standard Yukon if you want full-size SUV space in a slightly more manageable footprint. Choose Yukon XL if maximum passenger-and-cargo flexibility is the priority.

2026 Yukon Engine Options

There are three engine choices.

5.3L V8

The 5.3L V8 produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque and is standard on Elevation and AT4.

6.2L V8

The 6.2L V8 produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. It is standard on Denali, AT4 Ultimate, and Denali Ultimate and available on AT4.

3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel

The Duramax produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb.-ft. of torque and is available across the Yukon trim lineup. All three engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. For drivers covering a lot of highway miles, the diesel is worth comparing. If V8 power and acceleration are priorities, the 6.2L deserves a closer look.

How Much Can the 2026 Yukon Tow?

The standard Yukon can tow up to 8,400 pounds when properly equipped. Yukon XL can tow up to 8,200 pounds when properly equipped. Actual capacity depends on engine, drivetrain, equipment, passengers, cargo, and trailer configuration. Which Yukon Trim Should You Choose?

Choose Elevation if you want the Yukon’s size, technology, and V8 capability with a strong list of standard comfort features. Choose Denali if premium interior materials, the 6.2L V8, Head-Up Display, and a more refined driving experience matter most. Choose AT4 Ultimate if you want off-road capability combined with Super Cruise, Air Ride suspension, full-grain leather, massage seats, and upgraded audio. Choose Denali Ultimate if you want the highest level of luxury and technology available in the Yukon lineup.
